Changes we made
If you are someone who doesn’t mind sharing or you want to share with your friend or sibling, then the twin sharing unit is perfect for you.
Despite it being a sharing unit each person has their own room, with the the kitchen, bathroom and lving space being shared. Each bedroom has a study desk and chair as well as a study lamp with a loadshedding rechargeable bulb. This is to ensure that each person has the space and privacy to concentrate when working.
In the shared kitchen you will find a kettle, toaster, family sized fridge, microwave and two plate stove. Of course there is plenty of cabinet space for your groceries as well as your crockery and cutlery.
In the shared living space, you will find a dining table with two chairs, a coffee table, two couches and a smart TV.
In the shared bathroom you will find a shower, toilet, basin and medicine cabinet.
Why make changes in the first place?
On our staff we have people who have stayed in these units while they were studying. Using their guidance we asked for what improvements they would have want to make, and made changes accordingly.
These units are over 15 years old and so it was time for a refresh.
We wanted to provide place for that is relevant to the way we live life today. More importantly we wanted to create an environment that is relevant for how students study today.
We are always open to honest feedback from our tenants. It encourages us to make changes that are accommodative and add value to the time you spend here.
Where we are today
Today we have 72 units with a total of 76 beds. Our units have been repainted to have clean walls, and our kitchens have been renovated to fit the bigger fridges. Most importantly, our tenants are happy, and so, we are happy.Â
There will always be room for improvement, nothing can cater to everyone perfectly. However, where we can make life a little better and a little easier, then we will.
